 The ENVIS
Centre on the thematic area "Role of Panchayat in Environmental Management" has
been set up in 1997 in IES (Indian Environmental Society),
a non-government organization run on a no profit no loss basis, with a
global vision and a local focus in the field of Environment and its associated
areas.
The ENVIS centre on "Role of Panchayat in Environmental Management" is one
of the nodes set up under the ENVIS scheme of Ministry
of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
